Michael Mormile
Chief Investment Officer
Michael Mormile is the Chief Investment Officer at FortWood Capital, overseeing the firm’s research and investment process. Michael brings over 15 years of industry experience as a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst in both developed and emerging markets credit. Most recently, Michael was a Portfolio Manager at Citadel, where he ran a team that invested in emerging markets sovereign and emerging markets corporate credit opportunities. Prior to this, Michael held positions in portfolio management and investment research at PointState Capital, Duquesne Capital and Monarch Alternative Capital. He has investment banking experience from his time with Deutsche Bank.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Business Management degree from Cornell University.
Jonathan Hartofilis
Head of Trading
Jonathan Hartofilis is the Head Trader at FortWood Capital, overseeing the firm’s trading and contributing to the investment process. He brings over 19 years of industry experience as a Macro and Credit Trader in both developed and emerging markets credit. Most recently, Jonathan was a Trader at Citadel, where he worked with Michael Mormile on a team that invested in emerging markets sovereign and emerging markets corporate credit opportunities. Prior to this, Jonathan held positions in credit, macro and equity trading at PointState Capital, Shumway Capital Partners and Old Lane LP. He has proprietary trading experience from his time with Morgan Stanley.
Jonathan holds Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Management degrees from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Richard Li
Director of Research
Richard Li is a Director of Research at FortWood Capital, helping oversee the firm’s research and investment strategy. He brings 15 years of industry experience in both developed and emerging markets credit. Most recently, Richard was a Senior Analyst at Citadel, where he was primarily responsible for the emerging markets team’s commodity and corporate credit fundamental research. Prior to Citadel, Richard held investment management positions at Autonomy Capital and J.P. Morgan Mezzanine Capital. He has investment banking experience from his time with J.P. Morgan.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from the University of Michigan.
